SENIOR HELPERS FAIR

was conducted on February 26th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and was hugely successful.   There were over 30 attendees who were very interested in the program.  Hopefully, we will have another Fair in the near future.  For more information, call Niles Township Government or log on to www.seniorhelpers.com

Thank you for partnering with Niles Township.

THANK YOU AT&T

 (From Left to Right)

The President of the Niles Township Food Pantry Foundation, Charles Levy, gratefully accepts a check for $1,500 from the generous folks at AT&T for the Niles Township Food Pantry.  State Representative Lou Lang, always a friend to Niles Township,  initiated the donation for which we are eternally grateful.   Along with Rep. Lou Lang and another staunch supporter, State Rep. Laura Fine, are Trustees Mark A. Collins, Donald J. Gelfund and Anthony J. Lundin.  Mr. Tony Araque, food pantry manager, was delighted to set up the meeting with State Rep. Lang and Kimberly McCullough-Starks from AT&T.

We would like to take a moment to thank all of the other wonderfully generous folks and corporations who have helped support our food pantry which serves approximately 3,500 individuals per month.  This last holiday season the number of indivudials soared to over 10,000 who were served.

"Empty Bowls" (which benefits our food pantry) was held on December 6th at Oakton Community College.  The event was another resounding success.  All of our elected officials attended as well as many of the staff to buy wonderful gifts for the holiday season.  Look for the event next year sometime in December 2015.  The folks at Empty Bowls have furnished a link, please click on the following:

Our thanks to St. Peter's United Church for the wonderful Brat Fry which benefits our food pantry

We have planned two shred days for 2015.  The first will be on May 16th from 12:00 (noon) until 2:00 p.m. and the second will be in October on the 10th at the same time.

Look for our upcoming Niles Township Government Health Fair  - Friday June 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  - more details later!

Please don't forget that Kris Sadur from Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's office is here at the Township the second Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She is a font of information regarding Social Security, Veterans' Affairs and Medicare. Also, a Program Specialist from CEDA, is here every other Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Please call for appointments.

Feel free to browse through this and the many other programs we provide. We are committed to serving the needs of our community. Please join us at any of our board meetings on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
