Supervisor Marilyn D. Glazer is thrilled by the gift donations from Mayor George Van Dusen, Trustee Edie Sue Sutker and the Skokie Caucus Party Toy Drive for the Niles Township Food Pantry Holiday Giveaway for registered families on Monday, December 15th

There to receive the gifts are Niles Township Food Pantry Manager, Tony Araque and Drake Susral

On October 14, 2014, Marilyn D. Glazer, former Trustee, was appointed unanimously by the Niles Township Board to the position of Supervisor for the remainder of this term.  Janice A. Cichowlas was also appointed as Trustee to fill the vacancy created by Ms. Glazer.  Although we are saddened by the sudden passing of our beloved Supervisor Lee Tamraz, we are committed to serve the community as he would wish.  Superviosr Glazer (with the support of the Board and the staff here at the township) will carry on the legacy of care and dedication to all of Niles Township constituents.

We would like to take a moment to thank all of the wonderfully generous folks who have helped support our food pantry which serves approximately 3,500 individuals per month.

The next event benefitting our food pantry is "Empty Bowls" which will be on December 6th at Oakton Community College.  We encourage everyone to attend - all items for sale make wonderful holiday gifts as well as provide holiday food for the needy.  The folks at Empty Bowls have furnished a link, please click on the following:

Our thanks to St. Peter's United Church for the wonderful Brat Fry which benefits our food pantry.

Our shredding event on May 17, 2014 was a tremendous success.  We will have another shredding day on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Please don't forget that Kris Sadur from Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's office is here at the Township the second Tuesday of every month from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She is a font of information regarding Social Security, Veterans' Affairs and Medicare. Also, a Program Specialist from CEDA, is here every other Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Please call for appointments.
